Team Malizia brings you “End of Watch” starring Boris Herrmann and Rosalin Kuiper
Episode five - Give Everything- stars Boris Herrmann and Rosalin Kuiper from Leg 3 of the Southern Ocean during The Ocean Race 2023.
Listen along as Boris Herrmann and Rosalin Kuiper overlap on their watch on day 16 of leg 3 The Ocean Race. They are further from civilisation that almost any other human and they let us in to their private conversations, hopes fears, the highs and lows.
The pair start their discussion with crossing the scoring line in second place and how the repairs went, after 8 hours in the foil case they were exhausted but happy. They joke about how this went and how funny it is to repair at sea. They give special praise to the boat captain Stuart who expertly advises them from land.
They are also comparing the different sailing styles of Boris, Rosie, Will and Nico. The pushing and preserving element that has become clear between the four of them. They joke that Boris is like the sleeping dad keeping an eye on them and how he handles this element.
They talk further on the mental happiness level of each of the sailors on board and how they each coupe. The little mechanisms that they use!
The pair also discuss the leg, the desire to win it and touch on some of their creature comforts on board whilst also discussing the link to the land and how they interact with the shore team.
